Major Eric Laughton retired from the New York State Police as the Troop "E" Troop Commander after 32 years of service. He held numerous roles throughout his career, including undercover narcotics officer, officer-in-charge of a counterterrorism unit, special investigations investigator, and more. Colonel Eric Laughton also served in the New York State Air National Guard for 40 years, retiring in 2023. In his final years, he was the 107th Medical Group Commander and Wing Plans Officer. Eric is a leadership and self-improvement expert, as well as the author of three 5-star-rated books: 📖 The 4M’s of Success 📖 The Success Equation: Success + Attitude = Mastering Life 📖 Decisions and Consequences: A Cop's Guide to Parenting Responsible Teenagers He is a motivational speaker, certified John Maxwell Team coach, trainer, and speaker. Eric is a former professional bodybuilder and fitness expert who brings a unique blend of mental and physical discipline to his teachings. Eric’s journey began with his first book, From Coma to Competition, a powerful account of his near-death experience and how he turned tragedy into success using his 4M formula. Despite ongoing medical challenges, he perseveres, demonstrating that success is about overcoming obstacles through personal growth and self-discovery, not just surviving adversity. His mission is simple: to bring hope to those facing setbacks, to show them how to push forward despite life's challenges, and to prove that attitude is the key to success.
