Ernesto Cuevas is a storyteller, musician, Army veteran, survivor of a childhood shaped by abandonment, silence, and resilience. Born in Ohio and adopted as an infant, he was raised in a home where love was complicated and belonging was never guaranteed. After serving honorably in the United States Army—including time in Berlin during the Cold War—Ernesto returned home not only with scars, but with a deeper need to find out who he truly was. His journey to uncover the truth about his origins led him to lost siblings, shocking revelations, and ultimately, peace. Today, Ernesto lives in rural Illinois on sixty acres of wooded land with his wife Patricia and their family. He spends his days working the land, writing music, and reflecting on a life lived on his own terms. He is the proud father of Joshua, Cody, Brandie, Ziarah, and Axel. The Boy Named Boy is his first book—a memoir of identity, endurance, and the quiet, relentless search for truth.
