Fox Deur was born in Lima, Peru in 1977, the son of immigrants. He studied economics at La Universidad de Lima and sociology at Texas State. In Lima, he worked as a financial broker. After immigrating to the United States in the mid 2000s, he served as a medic in the US Army. He then worked as a school teacher before writing his debut novel in 2020. He currently lives in San Antonio, TX.
