Writing is my creative addiction. With limitless imagination, I can invent characters, develop dynamic dialogues, and form emotional connections that can immerse and captivate readers through inspirational storytelling. My imaginative disposition and enthusiasm for books began early. From school essays to short stories, I learned to capture words to express my ideas and make my imagination come to life through the power of my pen. As an adult, my confidence and capabilities grew as I created and accepted greater writing challenges that included a broad range of subject matter for books, newsletters, magazines, and newspapers. Sports, young adult themes, memoirs, and historical fiction are just a segment of my subject profile. Articles and books are meticulously written and edited before I can call them finished. The greatest joy is when a reading audience recognizes and applauds the fruits of my work. In 2009, my book Lifestone was celebrated and ranked #3 out of 100 top novels in Cyrus Webb’s Conversations Book Club. On another occasion, the applause took an unusual turn that I was not expecting. My first books were two young adult novels that became mandatory reading for an annual essay contest at a school in Pennsylvania. With my financial support, the winners received scholarship money, presented at a general assembly. For 11 years, I hosted this popular event and was deeply moved when a former student returned as a guest speaker, commending me for the impact I made in her decision to become a writer. It was emotionally uplifting to hear her words and know that I contributed to her writing career. I am not only a writer but an avid reader with particular interests in American history and nostalgic baseball stories. My boyhood memories of playing baseball combined with my favorite stories and travels to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY, were the inspirational catalyst for many of my articles and books. Currently, I am the newsletter editor for Extra Innings, the official newsletter of the New York State Baseball Hall of Fame in Ballston Lake, NY. My new upcoming book Coming Home: My Amazin’ Life with the New York Mets, will be released in August 2022. In collaboration with baseball legend and NY State Baseball Hall of Famer Cleon Jones, this memoir chronicles Cleon’s childhood in Alabama and ascent into Major League Baseball and World Series fame before rebuilding his beloved community after baseball. Over the years, I’ve not only learned to create my stories but help others tap into their own creative imaginations and tell theirs.
