Gary Sherman has been a psychotherapist and teacher of meditation and self-awareness for over five decades. He began his professional career with a graduate degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Southern California. Throughout his years in private practice, Gary provided education and psychological counseling to individuals, families, and couples with a broad range of behavioral, emotional, existential, marital, and work-related issues. Recognizing that there is another dimension to human consciousness than his Western training provided, he began a life-long study of meditation and spiritual practice. He has taught meditation and self-awareness programs privately and in social work agencies, corporate America, and at the university level. Currently, Gary is an author, educator, and teacher who is committed to exploring our deepest human potential and translating the results into practical knowledge that can be used to elevate our lives. He lives in Sonoma County, California with artist Ellen Miller, his wife and teaching partner of over 40 years.
