Gayle Long is a licensed marriage and family therapist and runs The Empowerment Center, where she provides psychotherapy, coaching, and mediation services. Her specialty is working as a women's divorce transition coach, helping women conquer their fears of being alone and empowering them to stand confidently on their own two feet. She counsels people on how to shift devastating relationship loss into positive growth. Her greatest joy is helping clients and witnessing their personal growth and transformation. She is also the former president of the Conflict Resolution Center of Nevada County. Gayle holds two master's degrees: one in clinical psychology and the other in counseling psychology. She is also a speaker and leads personal empowerment and compassionate communication workshops. The year without a man (and the years after) launched Gayle into the second half of life as a newly independent woman. She enjoys living on her own in Nevada City, California. All three of her children are grown and married, and she is now a proud "Glammy." A breast cancer survivor, Gayle is passionate about a healthy lifestyle that includes clean food and low stress. She loves being in nature, walking the local trails, traveling near and far with friends, pursuing personal growth, creative cooking, and spending time with her children.
