About the Author Dr. George Bair completed a Master of Arts degree emphasis in Psychology in 1976, and a Master of Arts degree emphasis in Educational Psychology in 1977 at Governors State University, a Doctor of Education degree emphasis in Educational Administration and Instruction in 1993 at Nova southeastern University, is currently completing a Doctor of Psychology Degree (pending dissertation) at Northcentral University, and is currently completing a Masters in Science in Forensic Psychology emphasis in Mental Health in the Legal environment at Walden University. Dr. Bair was certified by the Florida Certification Board as a Certified Addiction Professional in 2002, and a Certified Mental Health Professional in 2006. NAADAC Educational Provider in 2016. Dr. Bair has more than 15 years of experience in the field of substance abuse treatment, this includes specialty court programs such as Drug Court and Mental Health Court as a counselor and participated with both the treatment team and the legal system. Dr. Bair has worked in both residential and outpatient environments providing individual and group counseling and delivery of substance abuse related educational seminars. Dr. Bair has performed intake and evaluations for individuals referred from the court and probation systems, outpatient group counseling services, and individual counseling for individuals referred from Mental Health Court, Veterans Court, BAN Program, and State Probation/Parole Drug Offender Program in an outpatient setting. Dr. Bair has more than 12 years’ experience in the direct delivery of instructional coursework to undergraduate and graduate students in colleges and universities, the instructional information included college success (introduction to college life), psychology, lifespan development, abnormal psychology, and substance abuse counselor education (substance abuse certification hours). Additionally, Dr. Bair has developed and implemented more than 100 research based substance abuse related instructional programs in paper and pencil, power point, non-traditional, and home study formats. This course work included emphasis in Ethics, Marijuana, Opiates, Stimulants, Fetal Syndromes, Designer Drugs, Criminal Behavior, Driving While Intoxicated, Self-Defeating Behaviors, Treatment Planning Guides, Spirituality, and Critical Thinking. Dr. Bair happily enjoys cooking, sewing, carpentry, living, writing, and napping in his Southwest Florida home and hopes to add sailing to his list of hobbies in the near future.
