George Pitagorsky blends meditation, perennial wisdom, systems thinking and decades of experience into a process for living an aware, compassionate and highly effective life filled with healthy relationships. His theme is optimal living through self aware open-minded mindfulness. After 10 years as a software developer and partner in a start-up IT consulting firm, George dropped out to immerse himself and his family in the wisdom traditions and the Hippy culture thriving in the 1970's. Returning to the world of organizations, projects and programs, he became a globally recognized thought leader in project and process management. He has worked as CIO at a multi-billion dollar organization. George's work seeks to integrate mindful awareness, meditation, yoga, non-dual process and systems thinking, and wisdom teachings informed by decades of continuous in-depth study and practice. He has studied and practiced yoga, Buddhism and insight meditation for over 40 years. He was a senior teacher of meditation at NY Insight Meditation Center for twenty years while working as a multi-disciplinary consultant and coach for individuals, businesses and government agencies. He has worked as project/program manager, enterprise architect, product development director and trainer/facilitator for global firms, small businesses and government agencies. He has been in a fifty-plus year marriage with children and grandchildren. George is author of "Managing Expectations: A Mindful Approach to Achieving Success", "The Zen Approach to Project Management", "Managing Conflict in Projects and "How to be Happy Even When you are Sad, Mad or Scared". He is editor of the Breakthrough Newsletter and regularly writes articles on the integration of mindful awareness and wisdom in daily life. He has recently contributed a chapter "Mindfulness: The Foundation for Intelligence and Optimal Performance" in the book "Cognitive Readiness in Project Teams." George, working alone and with teaching partners, has developed and facilitated courses and workshops including Conscious Living/Conscious Working, Wisdom in Relationships, Optimal Performance and Conscious Aging. One reader and workshop participant said, “Best mindfulness teacher I've ever had, bar none. The total lack of pretension, gooey language, etc. is what stands out. George is very straightforward, practical, reasonable, concise. He makes concepts and techniques utterly accessible and unintimidating.” He seeks to help people to live more effectively by integrating meditation, values based behavior and clear thinking into their lives.
