Gregg Hale was born in Selma, Alabama but his hometown is really Henderson, Kentucky. He grew up an unabashed 'Star Wars' fan, avid Dungeons and Dragons player and back-yard zombie-film maker. One collegiate year at Western Kentucky University as a theater major somehow led to four years in the Army and an assignment with 5th Special Forces Group. Post Army, he moved to Orlando, Florida where he went to film school at both Valencia Community College and the University of Central Florida. After a stint as a sculptor on the ET ride at Universal Studios, he worked as a set dresser and prop man on movies and TV shows in Orlando and LA for ten years before producing 'The Blair Witch Project' in 1999. Since then, Gregg has written, produced, and/or directed ten feature films, four television series/specials, dozens of commercials and hundreds of creative elements including comic books, video games, traditional advertising pieces, live events and theme park rides. His pioneering work in transmedia advertising includes dozens of campaigns for Fortune 500 companies such as Audi and Sharp as well as entertainment properties including ‘True Blood’, ‘Terminator’, ‘The 4400’, and the ‘FEAR’ video games. His films have played in festivals worldwide including Sundance, Cannes, Toronto, and SXSW. His work has garnered an Independent Spirit Award, the Prix de la Jeunesse from Cannes, a Nova Award from the Producer’s Guild, a Cannes Bronze Lion, and multiple MIXX, Clio, Effie and Addy awards. Gregg is currently the Creative Director and Producer of 'Emerald Anvil', a multi-platform fantasy story-world that includes a novel, a board game, a podcast and an interactive storytelling NFT activation.
