Jack Elgos was born in the industrial north of England. Leaving school at fourteen (because education was getting in the way of life) he set out to make his way with "a bit of this and that". Jack is now semi-retired and lives with his long-term girlfriend, remaining stubbornly unmarried, childless and happy for quarter of a century. Together they have travelled the world, taking a chance at whatever came their way - from the strictly legal, though the definitely dodgy to the downright life threatening. "Adult entertainment" and "import/export" are a big part of their history. If you wish to read "porn" and "smuggling" there, that's up to you. An accidental association with some rather unsavoury characters of the Northern Irish kind provided Jack with one of the most terrifying periods of his life and inspired his Killer trilogy. His European experiences gave rise to The Reunion. Being lost in The Atlantic during a tropical storm in a tiny boat was also pretty damn scary, he admits, but this episode has yet to find its way into his books. Maybe one day. Though he fictionalises his characters to protect the guilty, how much of the stories are true is for the reader to guess. Jack's not telling.
