James has always been a storyteller and is a fantasy fan at heart. He loves to dive headfirst into an epic fantasy series and just get lost in the story, daydreaming about characters and settings between books. He was born and raised in a small town in Alabama, where he resides today. He is a part-time writer and a full-time nurse practitioner, working on his novels mostly in the evenings and on weekends. He is married to his lovely wife, Rachel, and has two daughters, Addelynn and Avery. He has also served over eighteen years in the Army Reserve and is a Captain in the Nurse Corps. When not working, spending time with his family, or writing, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and metal detecting.
