James is a passionate believer in technology changing the world for good. Inspired by his father – a visionary in cleantech lobbying in the 90s, he first worked in IT for consultancies, then moved agency-side to better understand how to tell the untold stories of technology’s potential for change. Working in strategy at Saatchi & Saatchi, Tidalwave (Fasttrack 50), Mason Zimbler (Agency of the year 2006) as lead strategist as agency of record for clients including Microsoft, Vodafone, HP and Google through the roller-coaster of the early noughties gave him a deep understanding of advertising. He then turned to running agencies – both independent and through acquisitions, building a global team of almost 200 prior to returning to his independent roots by co-founding Rooster Punk in 2014. They have a simple, but bold mission: to humanise B2B marketing with the power of story, ultimately focussing businesses on purpose, not just profit. James manages an incredibly talented, motivated and creative team. He has an incredible knowledge of the Microsoft business ( in terms of what we do and what we need to achieve) and uses this along with a real customer focus to deliver strategic, creative and pragmatic communications plans and propositions.
