Jean Rhodes is the Frank L. Boyden Professor of Psychology at the University of Massachusetts, Boston. She has devoted her career to improving the lives of underserved youth. He research and writing seeks to advance our understand the role of social connections in the wellbeing of children and young adults. Professor Rhodes has drawn on her training and experiences as a clinical psychologist to explore how relationships unfold across development and social contexts. Rhodes is the Director of the MENTOR/UMB Center for Evidence-Based Mentoring and founding editor of the Chronicle of Evidence-Based Mentoring. She was recognized in 2011 with the University of Massachusetts, Boston Student Government Distinguished Professor Award.
