Jim Prior is a successful entrepreneur with over 17 years of experience installing soundproofing in the UK. He believes the unwanted noise in a home is usually caused by the construction of the building. From an early age he was interested in building and creating new things; developing and showing off his skills, he would always look to make something that everyone else would want or be amazed by. When he was eight years old, he built a fantastic tree house with his dad, but was disappointed when the rain dripped through the gaps in the roof, getting his Lego wet! He decided to solve this problem. He searched his dad’s workshop for materials, and collected black bin liners and dog blankets. With a bit of trial and error, he created a waterproof, insulated tree house that he could not only play Lego in all day, but comfortably sleep in, too. Jim’s desire to put materials together to solve a problem or to create something amazing grew from those early experiments. Now, he gets a real buzz out of seeing a customer delighted with the soundproofing he has installed for them, and knowing they can enjoy their home and do the things they love. He gets satisfaction from every aspect: from explaining the concept to the client, understanding the building materials, designing the soundproofing system, to researching and installing gadgets to make the whole experience extraordinary. Jim’s has a soundproofing education course for DIYer looking to reduce noise in their home. His Soundproofing Installation company, Quietco, proudly helps homeowners across the UK reduce unwanted noise in their lives. Quietco’s values and underlying principles of quality, integrity, customer service and doing things right first time come out in everything they do. They love to get feedback from clients and are constantly improving.
