Fitts was an early pioneer of the cloud industry in its first incarnation as the Application Service Provider industry (with industry leaders Interpath and Surebridge). He also helped pioneer the Internet of Things industry with MIT Media Lab spinoff Ambient Devices, embedding intelligence in various industry devices with leading brands. He was a leader of Microsoft’s global Business Intelligence strategy, and is a noted authority on Big Data. He was a pioneer in commercializing BI on Hadoop, and licensed Hortonworks first analytics reseller agreement. Fitts has served on the Board of Advisors for the Computer Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) and multiple startups, guest lectured at Harvard and Stanford, advised government intelligence agencies, and is a best-selling author and international speaker.
