John Ligato is a South Philly native who enlisted in the Marines after his college requested he vacate the campus. In 1967, John received orders to Vietnam and joined Alpha Company 1st Battalion, First Marines. During one three-day period, John had the honor of witnessing the valor of two Medal of Honor recipients during the action at Hue City. He received two Purple Hearts, and upon his discharge, he earned a Master’s Degree in educational psychology. After working a decade with developmentally disabled kids, John joined the FBI as a special agent. His assignments included eight years deep undercover, targeting organized crime, several years on the JTTF, and a stint as a pilot in special operations. Following his retirement, John worked as a college adjunct professor specializing in counter-terrorism. He is active in charity work for wounded veterans. This is his fourth book.
