Johnny Kampis is a content editor for Watchdog.org, a website devoted to uncovering waste, fraud and abuse in government. He covered, for the New York Times, the return home of a truck driver who escaped capture in Iraq following his kidnapping by insurgents, as well as the devastating impact of a 2011 tornado on Tuscaloosa, Alabama, for Time. His work for Watchdog.org has regularly appeared on FoxNews.com and other national sites. His reporting of voting fraud allegations in some Alabama cities in 2004 for The Tuscaloosa News is credited with helping launch an attorney general’s investigation into the claims and the ouster of a mayor.
