Having lived most of her life in Canada and raising her son in the vibrant city of Vancouver, Joyce has always been drawn to the power of storytelling. From a young age, she found solace and inspiration in the pages of books, recognizing both their educational value and their ability to transport readers to distant lands and times. Fuelled by a lifelong passion for ancient mythology, particularly the captivating tales of Ancient Greece, Joyce discovered the enchanting world of storytelling. Beginning with oral tales shared with family and friends, she soon began to weave her own narratives, capturing them in writing from an early age and never looking back. As a mother herself, Joyce understands the challenges of raising a child in a world filled with distractions and demands on time. Inspired by her own experiences and the realization that many children struggle to find time for reading amidst busy schedules and short attention spans, she set out to find a solution, not only for her own son but for children across the world. Combining her love for ancient myths with insights from James Clear's "Atomic Habits," she discovered a winning formula. By infusing the timeless wisdom of ancient myths with the principles of habit formation, she created a series of stories that not only captivate young minds but also encourage a love for reading and learning. In her trilogy on World Myths, Joyce has meticulously crafted stories that are both cohesive and grounded, while still retaining the wonder and magic of their ancient origins. By bringing together the founding myths from cultures around the globe, she offers readers a chance to explore the rich tapestry of human storytelling and cultural heritage. Through her work, Joyce strives to ignite a passion for reading and learning in children everywhere, empowering them to discover the magic of stories and the world around them. With each tale she tells, she invites readers on a journey of imagination and discovery, fostering a love for literature that will last a lifetime. When she's not writing or exploring the realms of myth and storytelling, Joyce enjoys spending time with her son, exploring the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest, and seeking inspiration in the world around her.
