Judy Gruen is the author of the memoirs “Bylines and Blessings” (Koehler Books, 2024) and “The Skeptic and the Rabbi,” (She Writes Press, 2017) as well as three humor books. She is an award-winning columnist and book reviewer for the Jewish Journal, and her essays and features have also appeared in the Wall Street Journal, Chicago Tribune, New York Daily News, Aish (.com), Jewish Action, and many other media outlets. Gruen is known for her versatility as a writer, blending thoughtful insights with sparkling humor in essays and features, and for shining the light of Jewish wisdom in today’s world. In addition to her steady output of regular columns and features, Gruen is also a writing coach and book editor, and has worked on notable titles including “Why, God, Why? How to Believe in Heaven When It Hurts Like Hell” by Gershon Schusterman and “Soul Construction” by Ruchi Koval. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Jeff. As Gruen likes to say, "The words we speak and write can have impact far beyond what we can ever imagine."
