Julie Sedivy is an award-winning writer and a language scientist who has published and lectured widely on the topic of language and the mind. She received her Ph.D.in Linguistics from the University of Rochester and subsequently spent twelve years on the faculty at Brown University. She currently lives in Calgary, Canada, where, in addition to teaching and writing, she skis, hikes, scrambles and climbs in the glorious Canadian Rocky Mountains. She holds an adjunct faculty position at the University of Calgary.
