My name is K.J. and I am a resident of Texas. My husband and I have resided in this state for most of our lives and our children were all born here. We have three children and two dogs. My choice of activity for fun is karaoke. The Chosen Child: Tales of Ocaia is my first book. I used to write poetry and song lyrics as a teenager but adulthood pulled me into the corporate world. My inspiration for this book was an image in my mind one night, and I couldn't sleep as I was thinking about it. I got up and went to doodle it out, get it out of my head and go back to bed. What turned out happening was drawing Takenna, the Goddess of Life, and then writing her back story around the doodle art I had just completed. That backstory became the Prologue. It was not my intention to become a writer, but the story kept growing and so I continued writing. Now that book one has been completed, I am working on book two. I thank everyone for visiting my page and reading The Chosen Child. I enjoyed creating a new world and hope that everyone who reads it can escape to Ocaia along with me.
