Kathy Aspden is a novelist, screenwriter, public speaker, and host for the television show, Books and the World. Her first novel, Baklava, Biscotti, and an Irishman, was a finalist for the Multicultural Fiction category of The International Book Awards. Its sequel, An Irishman's Son - The Love Story Behind the Lie, was published in May 2020. Her 2015 short film, The Solomons’ Dog, A dark comedy about Karen and Michael Solomon, a couple struggling through the last days of their marriage, was a finalist in the 15-Minutes of Fame Film Festival in Orlando, Florida. Her short, BLAISE MADDOCH is a finalist in the UK Film Festival. Aspden has several awarded feature screenplays and short scripts.
