-While most college kids cut classes to party or recover from a party, Kevin Burke cut classes to run to the library and write down the short stories that would come to him like a flash of inspiration. He spent countless hours writing them all down- on paper! (It was the dark ages or something) -Over the ensuing years, Kevin began to realize he observed the world differently from everyone else. While others didn't even notice it, he would wonder just how that stain got on the wall and create an entire backstory around it. Why is that woman crying? Why is that man holding a broken umbrella? Maybe that guy staggering down the road is a zombie! Kevin learned that anything can be weaved into an anecdote with the right dose of creativity. And the right dosage courses through his veins. -When a friend told him she was scared of her boyfriend's gun, Kevin turned this into his first full-length novel. "In Hiding" is a thriller Kevin self-published at Trafford.com. (It is still available). One reader found the female protaganist so striking and realistic, she thought the book had actually been written by a woman. -In 2009, Kevin and his younger brother co-founded Zombie Movie Night. Every first Friday of the month, they get together to watch movies. There is only one rule: they must have zombies in them. Kevin found the concept of loved ones turning against each other both fascinating and horrifying. It became inevitable that he would write a novel prominently featuring the living dead. In early 2010, he did exactly that. "The Last Mailman: Neither Rain, Nor Sleet, Nor Zombies" was recently self-published in the Amazon Kindle Store. -Kevin Burke lives in upstate New York with his wife and daughter. Though he loves and fears zombies, he is completely unprepared for an outbreak and would be eaten within the first ten minutes.
