Thank you for visiting my Amazon author page! I really appreciate your interest in my books. I am a lifelong Midwesterner, a mom of three amazing teenagers, a wife-partner of over 30 years, and a dog mom/dog lover. My Ph.D. is in Religious Studies and I teach, research, and write about religion, work, and migration in the United States. I am trained as a social historian and as an ethnographer (anthropology). I draw on my dual training in my methods of research as well as in my daily life. I am the great-granddaughter of immigrants to the U.S. from Lebanon, Sweden and Poland; growing up in steel mill towns of Northwest Indiana has definitely shaped who I am and how I view the world. I love talking with people (and sitting down over cups of coffee!), and hearing them share stories about their lives. My books and articles attempt to capture the lived realities of Americans' lives. My passion is to bring people together and to find commonalities; I believe we are all trying our best to make our way in this big world of ours.
