L. Troxen, born in Ottawa, ON, and a graduate of Carleton University, is an exciting new voice in children's literature. Their debut book, Adventures Between the Lines: Tales for the Bold and Curious Generation, is a collection of short stories for kids aged 9 to 12 that encourages curiosity, bravery, and the joy of discovery. L. Troxen’s storytelling journey began as early as fourth grade when they had a short piece published in their school’s newspaper. Though years passed before they pursued their dream of writing a book, that early experience ignited a passion that would shape their career. Drawing inspiration from classic authors such as Roald Dahl for his wit, Beverly Cleary for her relatable characters, and Shel Silverstein for his imaginative yet simple storytelling, Troxen’s work blends timeless elements with modern themes. Their stories often explore nature, human connection, and the thrill of exploring the unknown—topics that resonate deeply with today’s young readers. Beyond their writing, L. Troxen is an advocate for animal welfare and a devoted dog lover. They have a soft spot for rescued pets and find great joy in spending time with their dog, which often sparks new story ideas. L. Troxen is also passionate about nature walks, photography, and volunteering at local youth literacy programs, where they work to inspire the next generation of young writers. Troxen believes deeply in the power of storytelling to shape young minds and sees Adventures Between the Lines as an invitation for children to dream, question, and imagine the world through their own lens.
