My name is Leopoldo Sanchez, I feel passionate about being a lifetime learner. My love for science has given me the opportunity to understand life’s processes. I also love to teach Biology to high school students, and I believe they are the greatest resource we have to maintain earth’s balance. I am excited to begin my new adventure as an author. "Science teaching requires attention to both the content of the course and the process of moving students from initial state of knowledge and understanding to the desired level" (Council, 1997 p. 17). Becoming an author will allow me to gain insights in real world applications. As a scientist I want to continue learning to understand human behaviors in relation to how a future workforce of scientific knowledge will generate the next; Engineers, Scientists, Technologist, Mathematics and Arts students to become proficient in the skills necessary to achieve those roles. It is my responsibility to grow as an individual capable of adapting to the future of America and it is our responsibility as the greatest nation on earth. Learning is the goal of teaching "In fact, teaching is part of a whole that comprises the teacher, the learner, the disciplinary content, the teaching/learning process, and the evaluation of both the teacher and the learner" (Council, 1997 p. 17). Education should build upon personal experiences and knowledge; therefore, if learning a skill or sets of skills requires practice, then learning a new subject requires the person to learn how to acquire the knowledge and apply it to a method. My background in Biology the study of life allows me to feel passionate about being a lifetime learner. I am also excited to begin my new adventure as an author. I earned my undergraduate bachelor’s in science from The Evergreen State College in 2011 and a Master’s in Teaching from Saint Martin’s University 2021. I believe that given the opportunity to excel professionally everyone can become successful in life. I completed High School in June 1996 then I enrolled at Grays Harbor College in 2001, where I completed an AA in June 2008 and right after graduation, I begin taking classes at Washington State University where I earned 18 credits in Criminal Justice. I really begun to understand my passion for education when I was challenged to become a teacher, and I look forwards to becoming a great teacher to my students. My passion for science has allow me to really investigate and have curiosity about the world, the one biosphere we share with so much diversity and it is up to us to maintain its balance so that future generations will have a chance to experience all the biological interrelated systems. I am passionate about the wellbeing of all human and wildlife. Those ecological niches are the supporting systems for many species here on earth. My values in life are family, life learning and meaningful work that creates positive change for all-natural living organisms. I have experience in biological assessments and management for the support of vital elements that sustains life for example clean water, air, and food. I believe in being a life learner and strive to succeed in every phase of life, work, and play. As a recent graduate I want to engage in a meaningful career that supports our planet and respect its living systems as the fundamental ecological basis for supporting human life.
