Lisa Papp was inspired by her local library's "Read-to-Dogs" program. "These former shelter dogs are now spending their lives helping children. It's a beautiful thing to watch." Many of the dogs featured in the book were once living a life on the streets or in shelters. Lisa spent the better part of a year following these wonderful dogs and their dedicated owners. "What a gift they are to our communities, I hope this story brings light to these beautiful programs." Madeline Finn and the Library Dog has raised money for local animal groups and Lisa hopes that will continue. "It's a privilege to share this book with children and share the stories of these wonderful therapy dog teams." Lisa Papp enjoys bringing characters to life, both in words and pictures. MADELINE FINN AND THE LIBRARY DOG, which she wrote and illustrated, won the 2017 Children's Choice Book of the Year Award, received a Parent's Choice Recommended Award, and has been translated into 22 languages. THE TOWN THAT FOOLED THE BRITISH - A WAR OF 1812 STORY, written by Lisa and illustrated by her husband, Robert, was a 2011 National Parenting Publications Award (NAPPA) Honor Winner, and a 2012 Storytelling Award Winner.
