Loni Hoots (1991 - ) was born in Joplin, Missouri, to David and Cindy Hoots. For most of her life she grew up in Colorado, having lived in two different towns, Gunnison and Lamar. During this time, she began to write poems and short stories, which later would catapult her into creating her first poetry book collection, "The Nymph of the Unknown Forest". In 2016, she had written a poem titled, "Laki Penan", in honor of the late Bruno Manser for the Bruno Manser Fonds who has been missing for two decades. This became viral among the community of environmentalists and activists. In 2018, she released a novella titled, "Petals and Nails", and started the Little Bird Series, currently with three installments, most recently, "Little Bird's First Day". Her second novella, "If You're Gonna Be There" debuts 2020.
