Lorena Amkie nació en México en 1981. Es licenciada en Comunicación y maestra en Estudios Avanzados en Literatura Española e Hispanoamericana por la Universitat de Barcelona. Trabajó como editora en revistas y otros medios impresos y en 2006 se hizo acreedora a la beca del FONCA Jóvenes Creadores. En 2010 publicó Gothic Doll, novela que agotó 20 mil ejemplares en el primer semestre y que se convirtió en una trilogía (Gothic Soul, Gothic Fate, Grupo Planeta, 2021-13). Siguieron el libro de cuentos Relatos de Impunidad y las novelas El Club de los Perdedores (Grupo Planeta), Las Catrinas (Grupo Planeta), ¡No te mueras, Eli! (finalista del concurso Gran Angular 2017) y Sirenas (Penguin Random House). Actualmente reside en Galicia, donde escribe y trabaja como asesora editorial, además de impartir talleres de escritura y mantener su canal de consejos para escritores en YouTube, que tiene más de 160 mil suscriptores.
