Dr. Lorien Pratt has delivered machine learning (ML) and decision intelligence (DI) solutions for over four decades, to dozens of organizations worldwide. Clients have included the Human Genome Project, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, SAP, the US Department of Energy, the Administrative Office of the US Courts, many machine learning startups, and more. She's taught hands-on machine learning workshops to the Saudi Royal Family, banks, an international space science group, at the university undergraduate and graduate level, and many more. Pratt is also a machine learning pioneer and thought leader, having led the teams that invented Transfer Learning and Decision Intelligence (DI). The recipient of multiple grants and awards, Pratt is a former computer science professor who speaks internationally and has given two TEDx talks. As cofounder and chief scientist at Sunnyvale-based Quantellia, Pratt's team offers Agile AI solutions to client worldwide. The co-inventor of the Agile AI methodology, solutions include ML, DI, and full-stack software solutions that incorporate best practices and software framework elements that reduce cost, risk, and end-to-end development time. Quantellia also holds equity in a number of other companies that provide AI/ML and DI-based banking, health care, cable telephony, and educational solutions. Most recently, Pratt's team is implementing LLM (particularly ChatGPT)-based decision intelligence solutions. Previously a leading technology analyst with Frost & Sullivan, Pratt has also authored many academic papers, has acted as reviewer for NIPS, DOE, and NSF, and has been invited guest editor for the journals Machine Learning and Connection Science. Recent articles appear in Digitalist Magazine, a chapter in the book "The People-Centered Economy", Swarajya Magazine, and more. With multiple national TV and radio appearances, Pratt recently appeared on GigaOm, TechEmergence, on the JohnMac radio show, and in Forbes, Pratt curates the Decision Intelligence News, is on the AI technical committee for NASA’s Frontier Development Lab (FDL), co-sponsors the Responsible AI/DI Summit (www.aidisummit.org) and blogs at www.lorienpratt.com.
