Dr. Marie Rudden is married to her co-author, Peter Lazes, and lives with him on a farm in the Berkshires, Massachusetts with 3 horses, 2 rescue dogs and a mini-donkey. An Assistant Clinical Professor in Psychiatry at Weill-Cornell School of Medicine, she has practiced for 40 years in a variety of settings. Dr. Rudden is a Training Analyst at the Berkshire Psychoanalytic Institute and Associate Editor for the International Journal of Applied Psychoanalytic Studies. She has written widely on Panic Disorder, Depression, Character Disorders,Change Processes in Psychotherapy and on Regressive Processes in Groups and Organizations. She was an Intensive Anthropology Major as an undergraduate at Yale College and has remained fascinated throughout her career with the study of culture and of unconscious processes reflected within them. Dr Rudden is also the Founder and Board President of The Berkshire Community Diaper Project, which to date has given over one million diapers to family agencies and food pantries in Berkshire County.
