Marina Endicott was born in Canada, in Golden, British Columbia, and grew up in Nova Scotia and Toronto. Beginnning her career as an actor and director, she began to write fiction when she moved to the Alberta bush. Good to a Fault won the Commonwealth Writers Prize for Best Book and was a finalist for Canada's prestigious Giller Prize. The Little Shadows, short-listed for the Governor General's Award, was long-listed for the Giller Prize, as was her next, Close to Hugh. The Difference, her latest book, published in the US as The Voyage of the Morning Light, won the Robert Kroetsch Edmonton Book Prize.
