Mark Alder is the pen name of Mark Barrowcliffe, who also writes historical fantasy as MD Lachlan. Mark's work has been widely translated and his book Wolfsangel was listed as one of leading SF&F publisher Gollancz's top 50 novels ever published. He has also worked as a journalist for UK and international titles from The Big Issue to the Financial Times. In his spare time Mark coaches fencing.
