Mary is an award-winning author from Australia with a literary career spanning five decades. She began by crafting short stories about the antics of neighborhood misfits, which found their way into various Australian and U.S. magazines. Along the way, she ventured into non-fiction, but it was her deep-rooted passion for history—particularly the courageous women of the Greek Resistance during World War II—that inspired her to explore their stories through fiction. Her debut full-length novel, In the Blood of the Greeks, was released in 2001 alongside the short story You Must Remember This, published under the title Out of Darkness. Since then, Mary has received multiple accolades for her historical fiction, romance, and urban fantasy works. One of the proudest moments of her career came when In the Blood of the Greeks—along with its companion non-fiction volume, In the Blood of the Greeks: The Illustrated Companion—was chosen by the Jewish Museum of Greece for its collection on the Holocaust in Greece during World War II.
