I am the author of FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE: THE ASTONISHING NEW SCIENCE OF THE SENSES (Aug. 8, St. Martin's Press). The book presents the latest, mind-blowing research into the human sensorium: we can see a single photon with our naked eyes; hear sounds with amplitudes smaller than the diameter of an atom; taste a trillion or more scents; taste fresh water and feel a single molecule change in thickness on a smooth surface with our bare fingertips. With super sensors leading the way, the book demonstrates our senses are plastic and can be grown. It offers a ten-step model for doing so based on the latest science. I am also the co-author of STRUCK BY GENIUS: HOW A BRAIN INJURY MADE ME A MATHEMATICAL MARVEL with savant Jason Padgett. Our book has been optioned for film and Mr. Padgett and I will co-produce. I wrote on synesthesia and the senses for ten years at Psychology Today and many other outlets. I have several forms of synesthesia and am a lab-proven super color seer or tetrachromat. Vogue called me the "Girl With Kaleidoscope Eyes" in the December 2014 issue. I'm very honored to have collaborated with MAC Cosmetics as the inspiration for and color consultant on a very successful line of super-pigmented lipstick called Liptensity. Articles about me have also appeared in the New Yorker, New York Magazine, Allure, French Vogue, Teen Vogue, Glamour, Elle, Cosmopolitan, NYLON, Refinery29, Women's Wear Daily, TEDWeekends and many other publications.
