Maya Bairey lives on a floating house on the Columbia River in Portland, Oregon, with her husband, their elderly cat Dory, and a loyal flock of trickster crow friends. Her fiction and essays, published in Abstract Magazine and Bright Flash Literary Review, examine women's quiet empowerment, queer identity, and how longing and resilience shape human experiences. Maya has also shared insights about writing, marketing, and creative independence on KBOO 90.7 FM. After years in corporate journalism and Fortune 500 digital marketing, Maya founded Lingua Ink Media, a publishing house dedicated to amplifying diverse and underrepresented voices from the Pacific Northwest. Her debut novel, Painting Celia, explores how honest art and intense love can heal deep emotional wounds. Maya writes emotionally rich, steamy, and empowering romances about mature characters confronting trauma to find transformative love and creative freedom. When not writing, Maya paints, tends hundreds of houseplants, protests with the Raging Grannies, and leads a twice-weekly Writing Cohort to help fellow writers advance their projects.
