Michael Wilson was born in Brunswick, Maine, in 1976, and he now resides in his lifelong hometown of Beverly, Massachusetts, alongside his children and extended family. Having spent much of his adolescence and early adulthood in active addiction, Wilson ultimately found a recovery process that reshaped his life—and gave him a passion for guiding others on their own paths to healing. Since 2008, Wilson has served his community through a variety of leadership roles in coalitions and substance abuse task forces. Driven by the need for more family-focused recovery services, he began developing programs centered on educating and empowering parents, siblings, and partners of those struggling with addiction. Wilson’s personal touch and lived experience provide families with both empathy and practical solutions—an approach many describe as a “beacon of hope” within a fragmented treatment landscape. From founding the Renewed Hope Project to co-owning and directing Family Services for East Point Recovery Services, Wilson has dedicated his career to bridging gaps in traditional care. His organization operates across multiple states in New England, offering intensive outpatient treatment and specialized family-focused resources. In addition to his hands-on work, Wilson now provides training and certification for professionals, expanding the impact of his proven recovery model nationwide. He remains committed to finding new, innovative ways to fight addiction—believing that by strengthening the family system, individuals stand the greatest chance of achieving and maintaining lasting recovery.
