Miranda Wise was born and raised in Washington, D.C. She wrote her very first short story when she was 16 years of age. Her 11th grade English teacher encouraged her to continue writing. In 2004, she published her first novel, Jonathan's Summer. She took a 10-year sabbatical and published Ding of the Bell in 2015, available on Amazon in Kindle format. In 2022, she began recording her books because so many people who loved her work asked if she could read to them because of time constraints of their schedules. That's when she came up with the idea to record and let others hear her work. "So many people don't have time to sit down and read, but they won't mind listening while driving, doing the dishes or relaxing" - Wise has said. In April 2023, she published her first audiobook, A Life Like No Other on Audible - a story she had written in 2012 that she planned to market as a series. Subsequently, she published Of Love and Work, and David & Queenie, which is a prequel to A Life Like No Other. More audio books are in the works, soon to be released. Wise enjoys gardening southern living, video editing, composing music, writing stage plays and assisting new writers, coaching and producing writing videos. "To me, there are no secrets to writing a great book or best-seller. I don't mind sharing tips and suggestions with other writers because I've learned so much from more experienced writers when I was in the infancy of writing," she said. Wise likes to add sound effects and uses her audio program in order to enable her to sound like various characters during the narration process of producing her audiobooks. "It's like listening to a movie without the picture," she said. "I believe one day audiobook listening will exceed traditional reading - people are just so short on time. You can do other things while listening to a story." She has also produced an album soundtrack for her audiobook, Of Love and Work, released June 20, 2023, featuring Kathy Kent-Graves, Joy Hymon and Towanda Stallings, all vocalists. Other than being able to reach as many people to entertain as possible, she has aspirations of reaching movie producers.
