Naief Yehya (Mexico City, 1963) is an industrial engineer, journalist, writer, pornographographer, and cultural critic, has lived in Brooklyn since 1992. He writes for several publications in Mexico, Spain and Latin America and has published four novels: Sanitary Works (Grijalbo, 1992), Going Home (Planeta,1994), The truth About Life on Mars (Planeta, 1995) and Ashes and Things (Random House, 20917); two short stories collections: Tales of Bad Women (Plaza & Janés, 2002) and Slices (Conaculta, 2012), and the essays: The Transformed Body. Cyborgs and our Technological Heritage in the Real World and Science Fiction (Paidos, 2001), War and Propaganda: Mass Media and the Myth of War in the US (Paidos, 2003), Pornography: Mediated Sex and Moral Panic (Plaza & Janés, 2004), Technoculture (Tusquets, 2009), Pornography. Sexual and Technological Obsession (Tusquets, 2012), Pornculture (Tusquets, 2013) and Drone Visions. A Brief Cyberpunk History of Killing Machines (San Diego State University Press, Hyperbole, 2020). Yehya’s work in fiction and non-fiction deals mainly with the impact of technology, mass media, propaganda and pornography in culture and society
