Nancy May was born in New Orleans and grew up in Columbia, South Carolina. After graduating from the University of South Carolina, she moved to New York City and worked in publishing. Her first book, Dogs Don't Talk is inspired from situations from her own life and having a child with autism. Her latest book, Not the Usual Season, is a young adult novel centered around a high school wrestler and the search for meaning in his life.
