Originally from a small town in Western Pennsylvania, Nellie spent time in Ohio and Colorado before settling in San Diego with her partner, snaggletoothed dog, and feline editorial assistant. She enjoys drinking beer, talking about city planning and sports, listening to emo music from the 2000s, and taking up hobbies for six months. When not writing books, she works as an architectural historian and reads Wikipedia entries for fun.
