I live in a log house on a small farm in Idaho, between mountains (east) and desert (west). A lovely river runs through the nearest town. My neighborhood has horses, mules, cattle and sheep, plus dogs and cats, and wild creatures like owls, hawks, jackrabbits, cottontail rabbits, coyotes, foxes, and an occasional eagle or badger. I love the rural scene and dread development that is marching this way. I'm lucky I get to write nearly full time. I'm also fortunate that I get to write about topics I enjoy. Of the six books I've published, five have been about animals.
