Pattie Howse-Duncan has been a reader her entire life. When not reading, she was raising two children, teaching school, and enjoying many hobbies. After thirty-nine years as an educator, she decided it was time to put her energy into telling a story. Now, at age sixty-four, she has published her first book. Growing up Southern, she has always been intrigued by the dynamics of families and all their complexities. It was this interest, and her love of storytelling, that led her to write a Southern tale of the making of a family and how the love of one person can flow through the veins of all the rest of them, regardless if they share DNA or surnames. Pattie married her college sweetheart forty-two years after they dated and together they live in Conway, Arkansas. When not spending time with her children and grandchildren, she enjoys their cabin on the White River in northern Arkansas. One of her hobbies is collecting authentic American flags with less than fifty stars. She has enjoyed this hobby for almost forty years and has quite an interesting display.
