Phyllis R. Dixon began her literary career as a bookstore owner, before deciding she preferred to write her own stories. She is a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and has lived in Houston, Texas, Pine Bluff, Arkansas and now resides in Memphis, Tennessee. She is the author of the novels, Intermission, Down Home Blues and Forty Acres. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. and a former national bank examiner.
