Life imitates art. Try my pandemic/vaccine/government 2013 techno-thriller "Subversion". Riveting audiobook too! Good reviews/sales. Audible, Amazon, I-Tunes. It'll have you sitting on the edge of eternity! My new self-help non-fiction book is here, launched on Kindle in late October and soon to be a great Audible.com audiobook by New Years Eve 2019! " How To Get Disability; Key To Your Rightful Benefit" is written by me, R. Manolakas MD, MBA, an inside medical expert with huge experience and training in medical disability evaluation for Social Security Disability (which can provide eligibility to join Medicare at an early age) and private Long Term Disability, and other types of disability. This concise, clear book outlines the easiest and cheapest way to win your vital benefit: build and document a compelling medical case. For best results, this process requires active inputs and understanding on the part of the claimant. This will show you how. If the claimant has an attorney to assist them, this book will add significant value to that effort. This financial planning and business self-help book is not only a must for consumers but also attorneys, disability advocates, educators, administrators, and doctors who desire to participate in a potentially lucrative and interesting disability practice. Few to no other books provide this detailed and keen insight into the the medical process of disability adjudication in simple language that laymen and professionals alike can use. If you bought the audiobook version of "How To Get Disability" the following is an internet reference site provided at the end of the Kindle book. These are excellent websites on the subject of disability; some are informative attorney sites; some are good government sites, and some are medical organizations’ private sites. Again, the author has no relationship with any of them. https://www.bls.gov/soc/: Department of Labor SOC System https://www.dol.gov/owcp/dfec/regs/compliance/OWCP-5c.pdf https://www.ssa.gov/OP_Home/cfr20/404/404-1567.htm https://www.disabilitysecrets.com/resources/disability/disability-social-security/requirements-long-term-disability.htm https://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/disability-lawyers https://www.binderandbinder.com/social-security-disability.html https://now.aapmr.org/conceptual-models-of-disability/ https://www.disabilitysecrets.com/resources/california-workers-compensation-claims-eligibility-filing-appeals.html https://www.bls.gov/opub/mlr/2017/article/an-analysis-of-long-term-disability-insurance-access-cost-and-trends.htm https://commerce.ama-assn.org/store/ui/catalog/productDetail?product_id=prod1160002&navAction=push https:www.benderconsult.com https://www.aapd.com/advocacy/ https://www.ssa.gov/disability/professionals/bluebook/6.00-Genitourinary-Adult.htm#6_05 If you liked "Twilight Zone" and "Outer Limits", you'll love my recent Sci-Fi/Horror trilogy on Amazon, now on Kindle and Audible.com/I-tunes. This handy and convenient book contains three short, spine-tingling novelettes that read fast and entertaining, perfect for your busy lifestyle that puts your time at a premium. Try it: "Washoe Moon, Dorian, Symbiotic; Purple Mist: Strange Novelette Trilogies". Purple Mist is the name of my new series. If your taste runs to somewhat edgy stories with spice, try "Purple Mist". If you like more cozy Sci-fi with a more family friendly feel, give my first Sci-fi trilogy of strange novelettes a go: "Bright Shadows". Even if the endings are not a surprise, the trip will be well worth it. Both cater to binge reading or listening (both on Audible.com and I-Tunes). Like a short Sci-fi short story with a punch, try "Lonely Pines". This short story is about a third as long as the novelettes above. Enjoy my historical novel, "Palette Knife: A Novel of Love, Intrigue, and Nazi Terror". Now, it is an audiobook through ACX--a subsidiary of Amazon, and available on Audible.com and I-tunes. Reviews are wonderful. This is an entertaining and riveting historical novel which takes place in probably the most important time period ever: the late 1930's, in Nazi Berlin. The issues in the book resonate today--terror, and the assault on freedom of expression and thought by violent and oppressive forces. This novel engages three areas that explain a lot about me as a author. 1. I love to paint in oils, and love Expressionist and Impressionist art. 2. My background is medical practice as an MD and research. I also worked as a medical investigator for the State of California. 3. I am a history and documentary buff, and especially relating to World War 2 and World War 1, and the years between them, especially in Germany and Russia. I hunt for my books at the library, or more likely Amazon.com. Read the five star review of 'Palette Knife" below from a true satisfied customer of Amazon: "Nice read! A powerful piece of writing. Palette Knife starts out like a war and rolls on like a Panzer tank, destroying everything and everybody in its wake. Little, if any fluff, but a nice element of romance. Intuitive knowledge of the circumstances, locations, jargon and personnel of the time. Well paced, well organized storyline. Many creative lines and concepts throughout the story. Exceptional plot structure and individual characters. Suspenseful story that builds to an exciting climax at Hitler’s Eagle’s Nest. Eva Braun’s roll was unexpected, but timely. As stated by another reviewer, there were imperfections, but it is a solid, entertaining read of historical fiction treating difficult yet absorbing subject matter. Any foibles fade into the background under the onslaught of the subject matter and writing style." Aside from exercising and watching old movies and cooking, I love to read books from this era and subject matter, so research was not problem when writing "Palette Knife." I wish you all would give it a try, and it has also--like all my books--been released on Kindle and paperback (Amazon). The spine of the story is the modern imagination and creative freedom colliding with Nazi oppression, and the violence and intrigue that Hitler and his henchmen used to smash Modernist and Expressionist art in Germany--an art genre that rivals French Impressionism in importance. The main character is Max Bauer--war hero and Expressionist painter--who, with his half-Jewish wife Frieda--struggle to save their vocations, their friends and colleagues, their country, and then their lives when caught in the vicious jaws of Nazi tyranny. Before Palatte Knife, I wrote in 2013 a paranormal thriller novel "Subversion". It is sold on Amazon in three forms: audiobook, paperback, and Kindle. You can find it under the author title "R. Manolakas". "Subversion", my first novel, is a paranormal techno-thriller where a Nobel Prize winning medical researcher and ex Gulf War 2 vet struggles to perfect an antivirus for a African pandemic. He is pilloried with shocking obstacles and then catastrophic reality. Try my medically based, humorous, non-fiction diet and exercise book: "Orangutan Butt-Burn Diet", available on Audible.com and Kindle and paperback. It is quick, simple, safe, medically based and includes some essential nuggets in safe and effective exercise and nutrition, and also navigating the maze of healthcare. The title is meant to be humorous and a spoof on all the strange titles of books in this genre, but much of the information inside is dead serious. I live in California near the coast, and like it very much. I love writing, and I've found Amazon to be a wonderful opportunity to share my art--my words and audiobooks. I hope you like them, and if you do please let us know by writing a nice review. Your enjoyment is what really motivates me. R. Manolakas Sincerely, R. Manolakas
