RC Marlen answers to "RC" most of the time. She is a novelist of historical fiction and has been told that she writes page-turners. Most of her books have surprise endings and leave the reader feeling like they lived the story. RC lived in Chile, South America for fourteen years and one of her books (Inside the Hatboxes) has been translated into Spanish. Maybe more later. As an author who always is working on another book, she reads a lot for research and most of the time the books are nonfiction and about the historical places and people in her books. But, when she takes the time to read for fun, she reads fiction and enjoys a book with a good story like Charles Frazier's "Cold Mountain" and "Thirteen Moons." However, John Irving really knows how to develop a story and remains her favorite author.
