I have taught Theology and Philosophy for 30 years. I also served churches as interim pastor. It has been a privilege to write with Ben Blackwell. We seek to bring a love of the Church and Scriptures to students who occupy a new circumstance -- where Christian teachings are not a given or long forgotten. It was also my honor to revise Church History in Plain Language, fourth edition. This best selling work by Bruce Shelley continues to be a favorite. Shelley was a gifted historian and teacher: through this book he still tells great stories. I submitted between 20 and 15 percent of the revision. I am revising a work of facing the evil and suffering with the Bible as a guide. Further projects include a work on interpreting Scripture with aid from the great theologians. My wife Debbie and I have four remarkable children. These wonderful people bring us joy and even grandchildren.
