Rachel Cosyns was born in St Ives in Cornwall. She ran away from home at seventeen to be with her boyfriend. Later she went to art school but discovered that fine art wasn't for her, although she still draws and paints. She decided to keep the boyfriend and married him at twenty-five. They had three children and now have three grandchildren. They live together in North London. Rachel has written stories all her life, at one point writing an online column for a national newspaper called Two and a Half Teens. Gone to Pieces is her debut novel.
