Randy Elrod is the author of nine books, including a best-selling memoir "A Renaissance Redneck In A Mega-Church Pulpit." He has a BA in Music from Palm Beach Atlantic University, and for thirty years, enjoyed a successful career in music and the creative arts. He is the founder of the non-profit Creative Community, Inc. For sixteen years, he was the CEO of re:Create Conferences in Franklin, TN-an annual international gathering of artists, creatives, and business leaders. Since 1998, he has founded four companies, sold two of them, and consulted with people as diverse as American executive Michael Hyatt and British artist/songwriter Vicky Beeching. Encouraging others to be who they are is what he is most passionate about. In fact, there is a beautiful video about it on YouTube. One of the most meaningful projects of his career is an experience called "The Quest." It is a rite of passage for the second half of life for anyone over age 34. He enjoys writing and reading books, cooking gourmet food, drinking whiskey and rye, savoring new wines, and painting watercolors. He has completed twenty-five marathons (yep, 26.2 miles each), and once had a bush plane drop him in the wilderness of Kodiak Island, Alaska for a week in grizzly country with only a tent and a raft. He lives in the whimsical artist town of Dunedin, Florida.
