Robert Dobie is an associate professor of philosophy at La Salle University in Philadelphia. After getting an undergraduate and graduate degree in Classical Studies, he studied and was awarded a doctorate in philosophy by Fordham University. He has also spent time studying languages and philsophy at the Catholic University in Leuven and at the American University in Cairo. His great interest is in medieval Christian, Islamic and Jewish philsophy and, especially, their insights into the relation between faith and reason. Dobie is also a passionate fan of the works of J.R.R. Tolkien.
